We took the weekend and traveled west toward Grand Junction, Colorado, just for fun. A great brewpub in Downtown GJ, Rockslide Brewery. And outside of town is a tiny city, Fruita, that is reknown for Mike the headless Chicken. This is one of several sculptures in town, and the only one I saw that pays tribute to Mike.

Mike actually lived about two years without a head. Talk about determination.

I have had the opportunity to create materials for the Colorado Springs Grand Prix of Running which in addition to the 5K on St. Patrick's Day, is including a satellite run in Jalalabad Afghanistan (see csgrandprix.blogspot.com) for soldiers from Fort Carson Colorado, and the St Patrick's Day Parade in Downtown Colorado Springs. The latest entry in this has been a logo for the Shamrock Shillelagh Clam Chowder Marching Society.

"Fun for a Dime"This is the image I have chosen for the SSNW winter solstice exchange. It is based on a photograph I made of the ride at the Manitou Springs Penny Arcade.

Although I have been busy with several other projects, I took the time to work on a postcard for friends to celebrate Mardi Gras. This is an ink drawing, approximately 12x8". The total time involved was about 10 hours.

Took a pdf file to OfficeMax to print out, but several problems erupted with that. Somehow the file shrunk in Reader to 93%, unacceptable. It also printed all over the sheet so mechanical trimming became impossible. Then I left my flash drive on the counter at the store. I miss the old days when I could print these out myself.

Happy and productive new year to you. This wonderful image was made by my dad back in 1956. The dog is Chester, the world's greatest dog and a current resident of our house, has been added. We used this for our New Year 2010 card.

This is still the Year of the Ox. I consider it ironic when I see things like this that have absolutely nothing to do with that but still wind up in my face. This was photographed in Oakley KS this past summer.

During our Open House, Bob and Rosanne awarded us the Nobel Peas Prize in hopes we might inspire others to give peas a chance.

Each year Pat and I host an open house where we ask our friends to bring food for our community pantry, Care & Share.

Every year, we look for a different item and this year it was peas. As an added item, I produce a limited edition silk-screenprint available to those that want, at a price I really don't have any control over. Some pay five bucks, others 50. The money or check goes into a sealed envelope.

This is my entry into the barenforum exchange. It features Chester, the world's greatest dog being walked by Pat and I. It was printed on Rives LW white with Daniel Smith black and Pthalo blue, and the hand colored.

We recently had the Buddy Walk in Manitou Springs, CO to raise money and awareness of Down syndrome. As my son Ryan is my buddy, what a way to get his face out there. Thanks to Shepard Fairly for his inspiration. I had a friend print it out digitally to 18x24.

It has been some time since I published, and it has been sometime since I was able to spend time and energy to make prints. But after a month or so, I was able to complete several new pieces. I had a show at a small library here in Colorado Springs, and with the success of that, I had the opportunity to expand to the downtown library. I have 35 pieces hanging at Penrose Library for the month of July.

It is time to start making more prints for a show in September.
